Death in the Water Privacy Policy for Android

Effective date: .

Lighthouse Games Studio Ltd. provides Death in the Water. This policy covers the Android Premium edition distributed through Google Play, including its optional online features and support.

Local settings and progress

The game stores your language, graphics, frame rate, FPS counter, audio and touch settings on your device. It also stores your best dive, total shark kills and progress waiting to be submitted to Google Play Games. Signed-in statistics are associated with a Play Games player identifier. While signed out, progress is stored as guest progress.

Guest progress can be added to the next Play Games profile you sign into on that device. Check the selected account when sharing a device. The game does not create a separate Lighthouse Games online account or store your gameplay statistics in a studio-hosted database. Device backups may retain local game data according to your Android backup settings.

Google Play Games

The game attempts to connect to Google Play Games when it starts. When connected, it receives your game-specific player identifier and display name to show your account status and associate progress with the correct profile. We do not request your email address or receive your Google password.

The game submits your highest number of sharks defeated in one dive, total sharks defeated, and achievements for defeating 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 sharks in a single dive. Google hosts the leaderboards and achievements. Your gaming name, scores and rank may be visible to other players according to your Google profile and privacy settings.

Google's Play Games SDK also processes gaming identity, analytics and diagnostic data to operate and improve its services. Google encrypts this service data in transit. See Google's Privacy Policy and Play Games data information.

Diagnostics

The game can use Unity crash reporting to investigate faults. When active, diagnostic services may receive error details, logs, device and operating-system information, app version and technical identifiers to investigate crashes. Receiving services can also see the connection's IP address. The game does not enable Unity Analytics or operate a separate studio gameplay-analytics service. See Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

Purchases and advertising

Google Play handles payment for the game download. We do not receive your full payment-card details or Google password. This edition contains no in-app purchases, subscriptions or third-party advertising.

Support and information use

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to send, such as a problem description, screenshots or logs. We use this information to respond and investigate. Please do not send passwords, authentication codes or payment-card details.

We use information to provide online scores and achievements, maintain local progress, resolve support requests, diagnose faults, protect services and meet legal obligations. Where applicable, our legal grounds include providing requested services, legitimate interests in operating a reliable game and answering support requests, legal obligations and consent where required.

Information is handled by Google, Unity where diagnostic reporting is active, and our support-service providers. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect rights. We do not sell personal information or use the game to track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising. Providers may process information outside your country under their own privacy terms and applicable safeguards. We use reasonable protections, but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and deletion

You can play offline or without a Play Games connection. Manage automatic sign-in and gaming-profile visibility through Google's Play Games settings. Clearing the game's storage removes local settings and progress; uninstalling does not automatically remove Google Play Games records, store purchases or backups.

To remove information held by Google, follow Google's instructions for deleting Play Games data. Clear local game data as well if you want to prevent stored progress from being submitted again after reconnecting. Google account and purchase records have separate controls and retention rules.

We retain support correspondence and diagnostics we control for as long as needed to address requests, investigate faults and meet legal obligations. Google and Unity apply their own retention policies. You can contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information we control. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to receive a copy, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent and complain to your data protection authority. We may need proportionate information to verify a request.

Audience, external links and changes

The game is intended for the audience indicated by its Google Play content rating. We do not knowingly collect children's information in breach of applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information that should not have been collected.

Community links and other external services have their own privacy policies. Visits to this website are covered by our website privacy policy. We will update this policy when the game or our practices change, and provide additional notice where required.
