Creatures GAME WIKI
Creatures & threats
Recognise sharks, eels, sea snakes, lionfish and sirens, compare their health and weak points, and understand incoming attacks.

Sharks #
The ocean contains several shark species. Some swim as part of the living environment; others become active threats during attacks. Keep watching your surroundings and react to their approach rather than assuming that all nearby marine life is harmless.
Where you hit a shark changes the damage you deal. Aim for the head or neck for the strongest impact; body hits are less damaging, and tail or fin hits are weaker still. Weapon choice and shark species also affect how many shots you need.
The table shows each species' full starting health in HP. Sharks that have already taken damage have less remaining health.
| Species | Health (HP) | Recognition |
|---|---|---|
| Mako Shark | 255 | A streamlined shark with a pointed snout. |
| Great White Shark | 800 | A large shark with a heavy body and a pale underside. |
| Sand Tiger Shark | 500 | A shark with a prominent, tooth-filled mouth. |
| Bull Shark | 175 | A stocky shark with a broad, rounded snout. |
| Blacktip Reef Shark | 100 | Recognisable dark markings on the fin tips. |
| Hammerhead Shark | 300 | A shark with a wide, hammer-shaped head. |
Moray and leopard eels #
Moray eels and leopard eels are among the game’s smaller threats. Their narrow shape makes them easy to lose against rocks and the seabed.
Check gaps in the terrain as you move, and avoid becoming fixated on a large shark while another creature approaches from a different direction.
Health is full starting HP. Head and neck hits deal 2.5 × base impact damage. Hits along the mid-body deal 0.8 × base damage, and the far tail deals 0.6 ×. Aim towards the front of the eel for the strongest impact.
- A Slinger hit deals 75 HP to the head or neck, 24 HP to the mid-body, or 18 HP to the far tail. Both eel varieties use these values.
| Creature | Health (HP) | Where to aim |
|---|---|---|
| Moray Eel | 100 | Head or neck: 2.5 × base impact damage |
| Leopard Eel | 100 | Head or neck: 2.5 × base impact damage |
Sea snakes #
Coral reef sea snakes and yellow-bellied sea snakes appear in the game. These slender creatures can be harder to track than the larger attackers.
Leave yourself room to move and keep a precise weapon ready when small threats are nearby.
Health is full starting HP. Sea snakes have no hit-location damage bonus: head, body and tail hits all use 1 × base impact damage. Aim for the clearest part of the body to land your shot.
- A direct Slinger, Manta Ray or Hellfire hit deals 100 HP; a Poseidon hit deals 120 HP. A connecting Kraken shard deals 35 HP to a Coral Reef Sea Snake or 25 HP to a Yellow-bellied Sea Snake.
| Creature | Health (HP) | Where to aim |
|---|---|---|
| Coral Reef Sea Snake | 100 | Clear body hit: 1 × base impact damage |
| Yellow-bellied Sea Snake | 100 | Clear body hit: 1 × base impact damage |
Lionfish #
Lionfish are a close-contact hazard. A sting produces a temporary poison effect, making them dangerous to brush past during exploration or a fight.
Anti-venom kits and the Wetsuit Thickness upgrade help manage the effect. Some objectives specifically ask you to eliminate lionfish.
Health is full starting HP. Lionfish have no special hit-location bonus: any hit that registers uses 1 × base impact damage. Aim for a clear hit on the body or head.
- A Slinger, Manta Ray or Hellfire impact, or one connecting Kraken shard, deals 100 HP. A Poseidon impact deals 120 HP. Each is enough to eliminate a lionfish at full health.
| Creature | Health (HP) | Where to aim |
|---|---|---|
| Lionfish | 100 | Clear body hit: 1 × base impact damage |
Sirens #
Sirens are humanoid underwater enemies and part of the supernatural side of the game. Their presence changes the threat from familiar marine predators to something much stranger.
Their role in the story is covered in the spoiler-marked Campaign and Death guides.
Health is full starting HP. Aim for the head: a direct Slinger, Manta Ray, Hellfire or Poseidon projectile headshot deals 100 HP, enough to defeat a siren at full health. The Manta Ray's delayed blast is separate from this impact.
- Neck hits deal 2.5 × base impact damage. Torso and other unmarked hits use 1 ×, arm regions use 0.8 ×, and tail regions use 0.6 ×. Damage is rounded down to whole HP.
- The Kraken uses the normal hit-location multipliers. A head or neck hit deals 12 HP per connecting shard (5 × 2.5, rounded down); total shotgun damage depends on how many shards hit.
| Creature | Health (HP) | Where to aim |
|---|---|---|
| Siren | 100 | Head: 100 HP from a direct spear or dart |
The living ocean #
Schooling fish, pilot fish, remoras and other sea life help fill the underwater environment.
Free Roam is a useful way to observe the world and learn the landscape without creature attacks.
